Reubens Maths.

Reuben did a great job working out this maths problem.

Everley's Outstanding Maths Answer

Everley sent me this explanation of the way she answered one of the questions on this week's home learning slideshow. I thought she has really explained how she took the steps to get the correct answer. Great work Everley!

Anzac Day

Did you know that Anzac stands for
Australia
New
Zealand
Army
Corps

Men fought and died each day. The first world war started in 1914.

In Australia, they had been under the control of the British Empire for a long 13 years and New Zealand for 7 years.

In 1915 Australia and New Zealand became witnesses to the new army of volunteer soldiers. The Anzacs landed in Germany April 25th but defenders were all ready to attack. Soldiers knew they had no chance of winning but tried anyway for 8 more months. They fought for their country even if it may have meant death. The amount of blood on the ground was horrendous. More than 8000 deaths.

At the end of 1915 marked the end of the war and great leadership to the many who died. The rest of the Anzacs were evacuated by the British. They made April 25th a day to remember forever.
Australia and New Zealand hold special events every passing year on April 25th. The Anzacs were legends giving their lives in Gallipoli (Turkey).
