Peaches

On Thursday Cody, Cadence, Sophie and Addison helped Becky chop up and stew all of the peaches that came off our tree in the garden. We plan to use the peaches for crumbles and for putting on top of our Weet-Bix. They taste so good.

Student Led Monday Mashup

For Monday Mashup this week, here are the activities that the children led. Tyson organised the inflatable for the cricket from Sports Canterbury.  They were challenging but lots of fun. Thanks to Will and Rebecca who set it up. It was a bit painful when you hit yourself on the inflatable. Dylan, Winslow and Benji organised some skateboarding and had a lot of fun doing tricks. Maea and Charlie made some chocolate truffles with a group. Addison, Connor and Niya organised making some slime but unfortunately, it was too runny!

Which activity would you have chosen? What activity might you have run?

Week 5 Monday Mashup

Breaking News

The technology group had lots of fun building towers to transport as many apples as possible in their tower across the large breakout room. They worked together in teams of three or four. The children used recycled materials to build their towers. They had lots of fun testing their towers, supporting and cheering each other on.

They provided us with heaps of laughs.

The children showed lots of resilience and empathy throughout the challenge.

2020 Team Challenges

This week we have been working together to get to know each other. Today we played the popcorn challenge where you had to use a straw to transport popcorn from one cup to another. It was challenging but lots of fun! We had to show the school value of resilience as the popcorn kept falling off the end of the straw before we reached the cup!

Mash Tough Kids

An awesome afternoon spent at Mash Tough Kids with 39 of the Tāwhirimātea students. The children had to navigate many obstacles spread over 2.7 km. They were absolute troopers!
